These days, sustainable wedding ideas are plentiful, with more eco-friendly wedding decorations on the market and greener options when it comes to catering, invitations, wedding dresses and more.
When it comes to flowers, you may want to have potted orchids, potted flowers or even herbs. These can all be repurposed & reused at home in your garden or for guests to enjoy long after the wedding. Tiger Lily compost 90% of all greens and flowers, not just after the wedding. It all starts from when they first arrive to us. We strip the leaves while processing, when desiging we work into a recycle bag. No green to be left behind!
Over the years, there is a big movement of #floralfoamfree, or #nooasis. Basically design naturally without the use of floral foam. The foam itself has mixed reviews if it’s truly biodegradable. With that, we have seen a resurgence of chicken wire for use of design. The chicken wire itself is available in a plastic coated or metal. All the wire itself, can be reused over and over again, which we love! Granted, it’s not easy to work with it, (ouch, it’s sharp) but using proper tools and gloves will ensure your safety. #bandaidfree
We can even use the ” EGG” in a bouquet. A specially formulated grid that helps hold the flowers & greenery in place. This is plastsic, so i would not recommend throwing your bouquet away before deconstructing it.
It’s great for large installations, as well. Drape over your form, when done, the wire helps create depth and fullness throughout the installation. It holds it shape unbelievable. Or perhaps having the wire exposed and used as a gride for escort cards and then add your floral accent. #genius
